If attending a teenage party, or in fact one of any other kind, I’d naturally wear my sharpest, coolest ensemble - possibly even my ivy-league outfit a GI got for me last year from his PX.

Young, good looking, crew cut, Ivy League, advertising exec type fruit holds the door back for me. I am evidently his idea of a character …

Look, I don't wanna be the same as everybody else. That's why I'm a Mod, see? I mean, you gotta be somebody, ain't ya, or you might as well jump in the sea and drown. (Jimmy Cooper, Quadrophenia)

http://thequintessentialman.com/history-...960s-mid-2010s/

The 1960s also saw the rebirth of Savile Row. Among the new trends, polo-neck sweaters could be seen worn with a suit. Savile Row coined the term ‘bespoke’, which described a suit cut by hand and specifically made to fit the wearer.

Also falls jemand mehr dazu weiß...

The word bespoke is derived from the verb to bespeak, to "speak for something", in the specialised meaning "to give order for it to be made" or commission, first cited from 1583 by the OED, with the adjective in its alternative form "bespoken" first quoted from 1607 in this sense.[1] The term is generally more prevalent in British English than American English, which tends to use "custom" instead, as in custom car, custom motorcycle etc.

auch hier findet man nicht mehr:
